The C3 initiative allows faculty and graduate students to pursue theoretical and applied research, providing important groundwork that establishes critical vocabularies and frames critical issues for future exploration. Membership Benefits

Beyond working with outstanding CMS faculty and students, membership includes:

  1. Two annual visits to MIT that provide a window into the research process and an opportunity to shape research priorities.
  2. Exclusive access to working papers authored by faculty and students months before they are published.
  3. Company-wide access to a members-only web site containing the latest research, papers, and updates published by CMS.
  4. Invitation to all CMS-sponsored conferences, colloquia, and symposia, as well as possible participation as speakers and presenters at these events.
  5. Referrals to faculty around research themes.
  6. Special internship opportunities for CMS students.
  7. Priority recruitment opportunities with CMS graduates and undergraduates, the media leaders of tomorrow.

Membership Options

There are two membership options for companies that wish to join the research consortium.

Member

Membership in the C3 Consortium requires a two-year commitment of $45,000 per year. Members are entitled to all the benefits listed above.

Partner

Partners in the C3 Consortium agree to provide a renewable two-year commitment of $70,000 per year. Partners have all the benefits of Members, plus:

  1. Membership in the governing group of the consortium which helps direct its research.
  2. Right to help set long-term and short-term research goals, including the submission of proposals and specific case studies for consideration.
  3. One annual company-based presentation by Senior CMS faculty to executives and staff that allows those companies to expand the reach of CMS-related work within their organizations as well as a post-presentation Q&A session to address specific needs within the member organization.
